Pop Up Educational Programs

Discover the wonders of the animal kingdom through our free, drop-in educational programs! Offered throughout the zoo, these engaging experiences include animal ambassador encounters, hands-on biofacts displays, and interactive activities designed to inspire curiosity and learning. Whether you’re meeting one of our resident animals up close or exploring fascinating specimens from the natural world, these impromptu programs offer an exciting opportunity to connect with wildlife in a fun, educational way.

Since these programs are not scheduled, they can occur any day, allowing visitors to enjoy spontaneous learning experiences as they explore the zoo. Our knowledgeable staff and educators are always on hand to share insights about the animals, their habitats, and the importance of conservation.

Artifact Adventures

Program Dates: 3/8, 3/22, 4/5, 4/19, 5/10, 5/24, 6/14, 6/28, 7/12, 7/26, 8/9, 8/23, 9/13, 9/27

Program Times: 10 AM and 1PM 

Join us for Artifact Adventures, a program designed to connect you with the wonders of the animal kingdom! Held every other Saturday, each session explores a different animal theme,

 where you’ll have the chance to engage with a variety of biofacts—from skulls and feathers to fur and bones.

Through hands-on activities, interactive learning, and expert guidance, participants will discover fascinating facts about the animals that inhabit our world. Whether you’re holding a feather, examining a claw, or learning how an animal uses its senses, each adventure promises to offer a deeper understanding of the wild.

Come explore the natural world like never before—each session brings something new and exciting for all ages! This program will be outside and is weather dependent. 

Monthly Themes: March- Mammals, April- Reptiles, May- Birds, June- Ocean Animals, July- Pollinators, August- Big Cats, September- Invasive Species

Animal Tales

Program Times: 10 AM

Program Description: Join us for Animal Tales, an exciting weekday storytime adventure at the zoo, running from May through August! Each session is centered around a different animal theme, where we bring stories to life through fun and interactive components. Kids will enjoy not just hearing a tale, but participating in songs, games, hands-on activities, and exploring biofacts that connect them to the animal world.

At the end of each story, guests will have the unique opportunity to meet a real-life animal, deepening the connection between the story and the creatures that inhabit our world.

Perfect for children of all ages, Animal Tales is a fun and educational way to explore nature while engaging in the magic of storytelling. Don’t miss out on this wild adventure! This program will be outside and is weather dependent.
