The Salisbury Zoo offers free admission and free parking, but we rely heavily on donations. The Zoo is open from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. every day, except Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The Salisbury Zoo is nestled along a branch of the Wicomico River on 13 acres in Salisbury, Maryland. The Zoo provides naturalistic exhibits featuring specimens native to the Americas and Australia. Wide paved paths offer accessibility throughout the Zoo.

Pets are not allowed in the zoo.

Service Animal Policy

The Salisbury Zoo welcomes guests with disabilities who use service animals as determined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Service animals are defined as dogs or miniature horses that are individually trained or “in-training” to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Examples of such work or tasks include, but are not limited to, guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, reminding a person with mental illness to take prescribed medications, or calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during an anxiety attack, among other duties.

Service animals are working animals, not pets. The work or task that a service animal has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Animals whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA and will not be permitted on Zoo grounds.

No other animals are permitted on any Zoo grounds. You are responsible at all times during your visit for the care and supervision of your service animal. The owner of a service animal must maintain control of the animal at all times. In the event that an adverse reaction occurs between a Zoo animal and your service animal, we greatly appreciate your assistance in moving your service animal away from the situation immediately until we can work together to find a safe solution.

Take Our Visitor Survey

BEACON at Salisbury University is working with the City of Salisbury and the Salisbury Zoological Park to study the economic impact of the Zoo. Your input will help us understand how the Zoo affects our local economy and identify ways to improve it. Upon completing the survey, you will have the opportunity to enter to win a $250 Visa gift card.
